PORTFOLIO
Mechanical Engineer and Designer
ABOUT ME
I am currently an undergraduate student from University of Pittsburgh and steering system design engineer assistant at China Changan Automobile Group with specific interests in vehicles and firearms. I helped with the designing multiple steering system housing, assembling and debugging the steering system as well. This field is exactly what I craved when I was a kid, obsessing with those supercars and guns like many other boys.
I have engaged in airsoft gunplay since the age of seven. The drive to emerge victorious in matches has been the catalyst for my deep-seated interest in those gears and equipment. When I found the car's steering system also made noise while operating, I realized that it was the same principle as the gear noise in an airsoft gun gearbox. Therefore, I chose the stress analysis of gearbox and noise control of gears as my final project for Mechanical Design II. It turned out to reduce a great amount of noise in the gearbox, steering system, and it can be applied to many gears systems in other industries.
This experience has solidified my passion for mechanical design, particularly in the areas of noise reduction and gear optimization. It has also taught me the importance of interdisciplinary thinking, as I was able to apply concepts from one area of interest—airsoft guns—to a completely different field, automotive engineering. I’m excited to bring this unique perspective and my hands-on experience to your team, where I hope to contribute to innovative solutions and continue growing as an engineer.
COVER LETTER
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in a mechanical engineering position within your organization. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering and hands-on experience in mechanical design and system analysis, I am eager to bring my skills and passion for innovation to your team.
During my internship at Chenzhi Technology's steering system department, I developed CAD models using CATIA V5 to ensure compatibility with diverse vehicle designs. I also collaborated on system assembly and testing, focusing on optimizing motor positioning and belt tension. These experiences not only strengthened my technical expertise but also taught me the importance of adaptability and collaboration in delivering high-quality solutions.
Beyond technical skills, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering teamwork and inclusion. Leading group projects during my academic career, I created environments where all team members could contribute their strengths. One such project, the design of a desktop tensile test machine, earned the highest marks in my class and deepened my appreciation for effective collaboration.
I am eager to apply my skills and experiences to tackle complex challenges, develop innovative solutions, and make meaningful contributions to your organization. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can add value to your team.
Sincerely,
Parra Wang

The Three
Graphic gallery
The Three is a visual effect concept I started since I was in mid school. Some of the works are presented here. The Three emphasize color contrast, image sharpness, and the texture and graininess of objects. The project focuses on aesthetic accumulation and visual design exercise
CAN
CAN Design Club is a high school club I joined, and I was the undersecretary. Here is the design visualization I made during that time.
Ambuserve
In this project, we create a company called Ambuserve. Ambuserve was born out of the pressing need to address the inefficiencies and high costs of emergency medical services.
I am the Head of Graphic Design and here is the link to our website.
